Hello, World
Hopefully the irony of the initial blog post being Hello, World hits everyone in the face.
Similar to how all programming languages start with the “Hello, World” program, I’d like to kick things off with a “Hello, World” post. In this post I’ll lay out what my expectations of these blog posts are and how you all fit in to it.
Before I start rambling, a bit about me… I’m currently employed as a Systems Development Engineer at AWS. I’ve bounced from team to team but at a high level most of my work has been on edge compute devices, as well as, networking. I’ve been here at AWS for the past 5 years (hit the yellow badge milestone!).
Now, lets get started laying out my vision, goals, and expectations. The goal of this blog is to teach / learn through writing. My goal is to be able to teach y’all (the readers) and strengthen my knowledge base simultaneously. Additionally, I’d like to get better at writing. It’s a skill I’m trying to hone and hopefully this medium helps that case.
Generally they way I’ll do these posts is I’ll take a topic and do a deep dive weekly (currently debating posting on Fridays or Sundays). I’d like the topics I cover to correspond to reader demand so please leave comments, message me, or whatever to recommend topics you’d like to see me cover. The first topic I’ve already decided on, it’ll be Life at Amazon. I’ll give a deep dive on what it’s like working here, what the people are like, teams, etc.
Thank you for reading the initial post of my blog. See y’all next time.
Ali
